As a result of being saved:
Your sins are forgiven.
1st John 1:9 | John 3:16
You are a member of God’s family.
John 1:22 | John 3:2
You have peace with God and access to Him.
Romans 5:1-2 | Ephesians 2:6-7
The Holy Spirit dwells within you.
Romans 8:9-11 | 1 John 4:4
Remember, feelings have nothing to do with salvation. You may feel like you are floating on a cloud, or as dull as a doorknob. It makes no difference. Trusting God’s Word is what counts.
A forward from Bishop Clint Brown:
There are three things that I believe that you must do to insure that the step you have taken will forever remain; three habits that if followed will not only keep you, but also take you to the levels of success that are rightfully yours in the kingdom of God:
The Bible clearly tells us that God blesses those who are faithful. “His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things; enter thou into the joy of thy lord”. Matthew 25:21. Your faithfulness to church is an absolute necessity because you receive instruction (Proverbs 19:20) and you receive fellowship and relationship, which brings strength and victory into your life (Matthew 18:19). Be faithful in your attendance, involvement and giving.
“The man who prays right, stays right.” There is no substitute for prayer. As your Pastor, I want you to always remember to pray for the people that God has put in your life. When you begin to pray, pray that God will now use you to reach out to: first, your family; second, your friends; third, those that you come in contact with daily. Your prayer life will bring power and stability to your Christian life.
I heard someone say that there is only one thing better than going to heaven, and that is taking someone else with you. Today you received the greatest gift that God has, and that gift is eternal life. Your responsibility is to share what you have received with others. Witnessing is more than just telling someone about Jesus; it is living a life that shows others about Jesus. It is living a life that shows others about Jesus. What I am saying to you today is that the greatest witnessing tool is love.
Today, because of your decision and commitment to God, you have accepted the gift of salvation and you have taken the most important step of your life. My prayer for you today is that you would continue to walk and live in the blessings of God and the shadow of His rest. Your life is one of purpose and value. Your destination is greatness and your reward is secure. Be fruitful and multiply as you live daily in God’s perfect plan and will.
